principal standing with student at high school graduation

Lapeer Community Schools has announced that current Lapeer High School principal Doug Lindsay is leaving the district for an opportunity to become the new principal at North Branch High School, effective July 1, 2024, pending North Branch Board of Education approval at its upcoming April 22 meeting.

“Congratulations to Doug Lindsay,” said LCS Superintendent Matt Wandrie. “Doug has made a tremendous impact on Lapeer Community Schools during his tenure with the district. He came in during a time when we were tasked with moving to one high school and due to his exceptional leadership, that transition was seamless. Doug has truly been a pleasure to work with and he’ll definitely be missed. North Branch is not only getting a hardworking and dedicated professional, but also a stellar human being.

“We wish Doug nothing but the best in his new role.”

The plan is also for Lindsay, who will finish out the 2023-24 school year in Lapeer, to succeed Jim Fish as North Branch’s superintendent.

Lapeer Community Schools will begin its search for a new high school principal immediately.
